Why choose Reiki?

The experience of receiving Reiki is unique to each person. In fact, each time you receive Reiki you may find differences in what you feel. You may feel hot or cold coming from the practitioner’s hands or you may feel tingling as the energy flows. Many people fall asleep or become so relaxed that they are unaware of feeling anything during the treatment. However, they still feel the full benefits afterwards.
The effects of Reiki are many. Some of the physical effects are:
- Brings about deep relaxation (alpha brain waves)
- Detoxifies
- Relief of pain
- Slows down respiration
- Lowers blood pressure
- Calms emotionally
- Balances the body’s subtle energy centres, dissolving energy blocks
- Supports the body’s natural ability to heal itself
There are no hard and fast rules in determining the number of sessions one should receive although it is generally accepted that the Reiki energy builds upon itself. In an ideal world therefore, Reiki would be given several times during the first week, followed by progressively fewer in the following weeks to gain maximum benefit from the Reiki energy.
However, we appreciate that everyone’s circumstances differ and that time and money may be a factor for some people which is why some may choose to receive their Reiki on a weekly basis for as long as they want it. Many people will then return, either as a boost when feeling the effects of stress or just because it feels so good and allows them to reach such a deep state of relaxation.
