Not many people know that Reiki is suitable and beneficial for animals as well as people!
Dog Reiki Treatment
During a Reiki session animals may begin to yawn and doze off, often becoming so deeply relaxed they enter what is sometimes referred to as ‘Reiki sleep’, almost a meditative state .
Animals tend to be far more sensitive to energy than human beings and therefore, sometimes, when experiencing Reiki for the first time, some animals may sniff the practitioner’s hands and be wary initially, depending on their temperament and their experiences with humans to date. Others, such as Girlie here in the following two pictures settled down to it immediately, suprising her Mum who said she never lies around like that and is usually tearing around the place with her ‘sister’. Animals just seem to instinctively ‘know’.
Reiki for Pets
Reiki complements other traditional medical treatments and other complementary therapies alike, aiding and supporting recovery after illness or surgery. It can also enhance the properties of medical treatment and reduce side effects.
